Background and Experience

Welcome to my information page. I am a licensed psychologist who has worked for over 20 years helping individuals and couples improve their lives. Over the years, I have worked in a variety of settings including hospitals, college campuses, and private practice. More recently, I was a senior consultant for an international psychological consulting firm. My experience as a psychologist includes psychotherapy, coaching, and the supervision of doctoral interns. Additionally, I have traveled the United States working with executives and their management teams. Since moving to Austin from Chapel Hill, North Carolina in 2003, I have been in private practice, seeing adult individuals and couples.

I received my undergraduate degree from Southern Methodist University, and my Masters and Ph.D. degrees in psychology from the University of North Texas. I trained for an additional year at the College of Executive Coaching. My style has been described as being friendly, warm, and down to earth. I like laughing with my clients, and see humor as healing. I enjoy spending part of my professional time volunteering with low income seniors in East Austin. My continued involvement with Impact Austin, a women’s group which raises money for Austin non-profits, is very important to me.

PERSONAL COACHING

Personal Coaching is not therapy. Coaching involves identifying specific goals and working toward them with a qualified "thinking partner", your coach. Coaching is present and future oriented and does not involve working on problems from the past. During coaching, I will help you assess and clearly define your strengths and goals, support you through your changes, and use relevant questions and suggestions to keep you moving toward creating a better life. I differ from most coaches, in that I conduct all coaching sessions in person, instead of over the phone. Please call if you have questions regarding coaching. My coaching services include:

Interpersonal Skills/Communications Coaching

Career Coaching

Fees

For my psychotherapy services, I charge $125 per 45 minute session, and $150 for one full hour. When appropriate, I offer longer sessions. I am not on any insurance panels as a preferred provider; however, if your policy will reimburse "outside of network providers", I will provide you with the information needed to file a claim.

For personal coaching, I charge $600 a month, which is usually paid in full at the first of each month. This includes 4 coaching sessions, usually lasting about 45 minutes.

Public Speaking Engagements

I am available for public speaking engagements for groups of women on any of the topics listed above.
