Background and Experience
Welcome to my information page. I am a licensed psychologist who has worked for over 25 years in this field. I draw my experience from my first career in human resource management, my training and experience as a counseling psychologist, and my involvement in a wide variety of settings. Since the beginning of my career in psychology, I have worked in hospitals, on a college campus, and in private psychotherapy practices. In addition I have had the opportunity to work as a senior consultant for an international psychological consulting firm. As a consultant, I used in depth personality assessments, cognitive ability assessments, and extensive interviews to help executive and managers with hiring and selection, succession planning, and leadership development. Additionally, I facilitated individual and group conflict resolutions and led team building trainings. During this period, I traveled the country working with top executives and management teams in large national and multinational corporations. I received my undergraduate degree from Southern Methodist University, and my Masters and Ph.D. degrees in psychology from the University of North Texas. I trained for an additional year at the College of Executive Coaching. Since completion of my training in coaching (including working with executives and individuals from all walks of life) a significant portion of my practice has been dedicated to working with clients who have needed career coaching more than therapy. I see myself as a very down to earth, compassionate person who is also pragmatic and very solution oriented. I love inspiring and motivating individuals to achieve their potential in the job/career they desire. I am honest with my clients, and I actually do give advice. Laughing with my clients is important to me and see humor as an important part of my relationships. I currently have my own organizational consulting business and I work primarily, although not exclusively, with non-profit organizations.
