I am a clinical psychologist practicing in the Austin area, offering individual psychotherapy, couples therapy, and sex therapy to adult clients.

Treatment Orientation & Psychotherapy Style

My style is warm, supportive, and direct, and I encourage serious discussion as well as moments of levity and humor. I use both cognitive-behavioral and psychoanalytic treatment approaches. Cognitive-behavioral therapy involves identifying beliefs, thoughts, and behaviors that may be contributing to current problems, and developing more flexible, adaptive, and satisfying solutions. Psychoanalytic therapy involves considering early influential experiences with family, friends, or romantic relationships that may be affecting ongoing issues.

Training & Experience

I received my doctoral training at the University of Texas at Austin Female Sexual Psychophysiology Laboratory. I interned at the Audie L. Murphy Veterans Hospital in San Antonio where I counseled male and female veterans with depression, anxiety, spinal cord injuries, sexual and combat-related post traumatic stress disorder, and sexual dysfunction. I worked as a Lecturer and Adjunct Professor of Psychology at The University of Texas at Austin and Concordia University at Austin, and have published eight peer reviewed articles and chapters on sexuality.
